Sickie’s Garage is a popular burger restaurant with two locations in Central Florida: Orlando and Kissimmee. We would often drive by the restaurant and see it packed with people. We also heard from several Disney cast members that it’s a popular spot after the park closes for them. So we decided to see what it might offer for gluten free dining!
After speaking with the staff, I quickly saw they didn’t know everything about gluten-free dining and had to rely on the kitchen for information. That said, I’m thankful that they would go to the kitchen and ask! But the experience was really mixed from there.
After reading through the menu, I learned that the options were to get a burger that was served on a gluten-free bun. This was the gluten-free Udi’s bun, so it was a good option that I enjoy. The menu is enormous, with a lot of different burgers to choose from. It was unfortunate that no appetizers were able to be gluten-free per the team. But a lot of the burgers were able to be gluten-free with the change of the bun!

I was told that the sides are all cooked in the same oil, so they are unable to accommodate a gluten-free side that is free of cross contamination. My sensitivity is not so much to cross-contamination, so I did opt for the sweet potato fries.
The burger I got was the Smoky Burnout. I was advised the Jameson sauce was gluten free. But here is one of the big issues that I had. Once my burger came out, it came out on the regular bun. I had read on some other gluten-free reviews that this happened to them as well. Thankfully I knew what the Udi’s bun should look like and called it out to the server.
She immediately took it back to the kitchen and had them remake the meal. I was concerned it might be just simply swapped to the new bun, but after they tried to serve it to me a second time, and my freshly made burger came out, I realized I was safe.

The Udi’s bun was warmed perfectly and a great match for this burger. The burger was cooked exactly as I asked, and the sauce and meats were a perfect blend. The sweet potato fries were extremely disappointing and I only ate a few of them. I would probably skip the side in the future, but that’s my personal preference.
If you do go to Sickie’s, be extremely careful. The burgers are great, but make sure you are looking out for yourself and that they take your gluten free needs seriously!
