Not long ago, I shared about a visit to El Patrone where I had dinner. The visit was great, but I was intrigued when I saw there was a buffet option at the restaurant. It seemed to be a large space for the buffet, and so I had to ask the staff about it.

They described that the buffet has a lot of gluten-free options. After listening to their description, I quickly put the restaurant back on my list to visit for the buffet. Recently, I checked that item off the list!

The buffet was extremely clean, with every item that is gluten free being marked on the sign. There were plenty of meat and side options. The items that were not marked as gluten-free, the staff would easily share if they were at risk for cross contamination or truly were gluten-containing items.

I snapped a picture of one of my plates to share. You can see the fajita meats that were all gluten-free, the vegetables, and some of the fruit. The fruit was extremely fresh, the steak was tender, and the veggies had great flavor!

I always worry about buffets and the potential to have issues. The staff was constantly cleaning the restaurant and buffet area. They watched as others dipped their food and made sure the utensils were clean.

Of all the buffets around, this was as close to a Disney-type experience as I have had. While cross contamination might be a risk, if you just need gluten-free, go enjoy El Patrone’s buffet!
